The 'OM Pakistan Sports Ministry Kids Compassion' project ran over a two month period, from December 2009 through to the end of January 2010. Some of the projects and activities are enthusiastically reported by Victor Lal, and include the following:
The OM team donated gift packages of hygiene and toiletry items to 200 kids in Gojra and Korian at the end of the Kids Games.
Gojra and Korian are two remote Christian areas which were recently attacked. Homes were destroyed and houses burnt, and some Christians died as a result of the attacks in those areas, all because they give Jesus the allegiance of their lives.
They also had the privilege to pay six months of school fees of 242 kids at different schools in Gojra and paid 82 kids school fees for one year in Korian village.
Similar gift packs were given as Christmas gifts to 76 kids in Lahore's poor communities, and to some others in remote areas of Lahore.
They also supported the Brick Kiln Community in Manawala, which gave similar hygiene packs to children in their own area.
Altogether, in a period of 36 hours, OM donated gifts to 737 kids. This remarkable ministry is a coordinated effort by local Christians who out of their own resources give and give to serve the Lord Jesus in these communities.
Meanwhile the '12th Annual Easter Celebration Cricket Tournament' has commenced at the Model Town cricket grounds Lahore.
