The agreement has decreased the amount of money being paid to rookie draft picks and moved that money over to retired veterans who played the game when there wasn't bucket loads of cash being thrown around the room.

Players of yester-year work very hard in difficult conditions in a tough sport that in the early stages was without a true medical understanding of the ramifications of playing in such a heavy contact sport over a number of years.
