However with Villa and Wigan winning games, this has dragged the bottom 9 clubs into the battle as there are just 5 points separating 11th & 18th place.
In the race for the champions league places, Arsenal won 1-0 away at QPR whilst Spurs had a 1-0 win at home to Southampton curtsy of a stunning strike from player of the year Bale.
Chelsea had a dramatic 1-0 win away at Old Trafford. The wins keep all clubs in a 3 way place for 3rd and 4th with Spurs having a game in hand over Arsenal and only 2 points behind them.
