Surviving 40 days at sea and pirate attacks, language barriers, divorcing parents, being broke, experiencing bullies, becoming a lawyer, then Comedian of the Year, Vietnamese-born Anh Do certainly has a life journey that most of us would listen to incredulously.
There is a lot of need in the world that we live in. Perhaps it’s because I work in aid and development and so am hyper aware of it, but I feel like this need is thrust in our faces more now than ever before.
The 'sermon' given at the Royal wedding has got tongues waging. Given by the Reverend Michael Curry, an American Episcopalian Archbishop from Chicago and invited by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby to give the sermon – he gave a 14 minute, what I call - a Black American regular preaching style of passion and vigour. No surprise there.
