Daniel Jang was born in Korea, raised in New Zealand, lived and worked in Australia for the past decade. He served with Compassion, followed by an overseas calling with OM Logos Hope, and now back in Wellington completing theology studies at Laidlaw.
Coincidentally it was the 2013 Basil Sellers Australian Young Writer winner Alison Barkley (who is now serving the Lord in the Philippines) who introduced Daniel Jang when living in Newcastle to the young writer program.
Now, Daniel Jang has been putting his gifted strategist skills into the PSI young writers program. In the first instant, he spoke at Rooftops in Wellington New Zealand in September on the young writer program. Rooftops is an ecumenical chaplaincy ministry whose information day program saw Daniel explain the young writer program.
The Rooftops vision is to encourage Christians to engage now and take their first steps into public square discussion and debate, with the support of others; and encourage Christian young people to love other New Zealanders using words in sync with lives lived differently speak.
Wellington young Christian leaders Cody Knox, Helen McIntosh and Harriet Campbell took up the cudgel as it were, to become participants in the Press Service International young writer program with Christian Today, giving Christian young writers a voice.

At that Rooftops information day was Jamaican student Sharma Taylor who gave a presentation on her on-line Rooftop activities. Sharma has finished her Ph.D., in law at Victoria University of Wellington and is now back in Jamaica and likewise contacted Daniel Jang.
Sharma Taylor has now become part of the PSI International young writer team and initiates her first article in Christian Today next week. Other past and current international young writers are from Canada, ambique, USA, England, France, New Zealand, Korea, China, South Africa, various missionaries on the field and now Jamaica.
Strategic thinking on PSI site
Daniel Jang then turned his attention to the PSI web site so as to maximise the young writer exposure on the one hand, and make it more user friendly on the other.
The recommendations were to re-establish the young writer identities, not under Comment Writer categories, rather under National and State geographical locations. A viewer might then find their particular young writer of interest most agreeably.

Dr Mark Tronson is a Baptist minister (retired) who served as the Australian cricket team chaplain for 17 years (2000 ret) and established Life After Cricket in 2001.
