To put it simply, Wow. Everything went so smoothly, even when things weren't going to plan God would provide an alternative that in most cases was better anyway and among so many other great things the pinnacle was simply sitting down with the campers every morning for close to two hours studying the bible.
So many of them were eager to learn and discuss the word of God.
I am greatly encouraged by all this; it is incredible to see God at work in people's lives, noticing all the people who read the article asking for prayer was also a great encouragement throughout the week.
Looking back over this I think shows a facet of how the triumph of God is unfolding in his church that we can come together for the cause of the gospel of the risen Christ.
Take heart and continue to pray, particularly given the events of the past week. Be in prayer that the gospel will go forth, be in prayer for those proclaiming his word and be in prayer for those who are without this light for in Christ is peace, in Christ is renewal, in Christ is our great hope of salvation.
By the time this goes to print three other events have taken place. First was my engagement party (to Salley) and then last Monday 21 October I had my Honours Proposal Presentation which was heavy going.
Then there was something I organised. Last Thursday evening, 24 October, I put together a concert of "New Works" at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, which is situated are the corner of Bridge and Macquarie Streets, in Sydney CBD, held in the Music Workshop.
I had a piece for Flute, Bassoon and Violin which I wrote for the concert. I was very pleased with this.
One part of my course is that of composing music (classical and other genre). I've done a number of compositions for advertisements, short films and feature films. This has been a developing part of my career path.
Another is that since I was 15, I've been volunteering on movie-sets learning the "sound" trade and now I get called for these tasks, and they pay me for it. This is helping me through university.
Another aspect of my career is classical singing – I have written previously that I toured Europe in November 2011 singing in the great Cathedrals with the Sydney Conservatorium Chamber Choir.
Two weeks ago we sang Bach's Christmas oratorio on two nights running, the Sunday and then the Monday evenings.
Prayer continues to be an essential element in my life whether it is for these holiday camps run by Christian organisations in which I serve (and so much fun), or for these career path endeavours in which I so enjoy and am very busy with.
