The first teaser for Bates Motel season three is out, and it seems like the show's timeline is starting to coincide with the film.
The first two seasons of Bates Motel served as prequels to the 1960's film Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock, but the season 3 trailer showed Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) spying on a tenant through a peephole as she undresses, much like Anthony Perkins's Norman watching Janet Leigh's Marion Crane in the film.
In the TV series, the motel's newest tenant Annika Johnson is played by Tracy Spiridakos. The teaser shows her character emerging from the bathroom and removing her earrings, then slowly taking off her red dress, all the while oblivious to the peeping Norman.
He later covers up the hole with a picture frame.
Season 2 left off with Norman managing to pass a polygraph test and getting away with his crime. He is slowly transitioning to his dark side, much to his overbearing mother's dismay.
Bates Motel is set to return on March 2015.
