The fourth and last season of the modern adaptation of this timeless tale has been quite a bumpy roller coaster ride for newlyweds Vincent and Catherine. The season started off with potential bounty hunters who were hell-bent on capturing Vincent dead or alive, and then moved on to include a possible 'beast-buyer' who wanted Vincent brought in alive.
And in the midst of all this turmoil was Cat, who had to choose between her loyalties as a cop and as Vincent's wife. Sadly, with Tess leaving her side, Cat was left alone to sort out the mess. And at the end of the last aired episode, as International Business Times recalls, we saw Vincent and Cat take down the beast-buyer, who turned out to be Graydal's CEO Peter Braxton.
But does that mean the end of their troubles? Apparently not. The synopsis on The Hollywood Hills for the upcoming episode titled 'Meet the New Beast' reads thus, "When Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) discover they lost control of their secret, they will finally admit it might be time for life on the run."
If the two do go into hiding and live life on the run, it would only be logical as it isn't just Vincent who's endangered. Cat's job as a police officer is also on the line. And far worse is the fact that she could be accused of aiding a fugitive. With Tess on the opposite side, Cat's left with no choice but to follow Vincent into the shadows.
With the series almost coming to a close, there are only three episodes to go, including the upcoming one. Although critics and fans both believe that it is extremely late in the series to be introducing a whole new beast, it'll be interesting to see how the showrunners tackle the challenge.
