The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from 16-5 October, 2010. Nominations for participants to be considered will close on 30th April 2009.
The Lausanne Movement brings together like-minded missional leaders, either face to face or via technology, to engage over seminal issues regarding world evangelization. In collaboration with the World Evangelical Alliance, it is well positioned to draw together 4,000 leaders from around the world with a concern for evangelization, and a passion to contribute to the building of God's Kingdom.
|PIC3|Much as we would all want to be present to participate and contribute to such a momentous event, space is limited and each region of the world has been set a quota. The South Pacific region, although covering a large amount of physical space, has a small evangelical population and therefore those chosen to represent us will be few in number. "It is of paramount importance that the most appropriate people are nominated to represent our region," Daniel Willis, International Director of the South Pacific Region said.
|PIC2|Ross Clifford, Chairman of the Australian Lausanne Committee, has asked "Christian leaders to help us identify gifted leaders, men and women, lay and ordained, young and old who should be considered to fill the spots for the Australian contingent." He added "It is vital that we raise up the next generation of leaders."
Daniel Willis is also urging Christian leaders to help identify potential participants from the 28 countries of the South Pacific region. "Time is running out," he said, "and we need the best leaders who will be working into the future to be selected to represent the region. The registration process is now and the selection process has begun. We don't want to overlook anyone who should be considered," Daniel said.
If you know someone you think should represent the South Pacific Region at this landmark event in church history, please contact the Regional Administrator, Karen Beaton for more information.
