A very pregnant Carrie Underwood paid tribute to the late country legend Little Jimmy Dickens during his funeral in Nashville on Thursday.
Little Jimmy, who only stood 4'11" suffered a stroke on Christmas, and died of a heart attack on January 2. He was age 94.
Underwood first expressed her feelings on social networking site Twitter. "I know why it's raining in Nashville. Little Jimmy is in heaven now making the Angels laugh so hard, they're crying. We'll miss you, friend!" the 31-year-old singer wrote.
Dickens was the oldest living member of the Grand Ole Opry. He even had his final performance there last December 20, a few days before his stroke. Family and friends thought it only fitting that he will be eulogized at the historic Tennessee venue.
Underwood, clad in an all black maternity dress, patterned scarf and nude pumps joined Vince Gill onstage for a touching duet of "Go Rest High On That Mountain."
The remembrance service ended when a teary Brad Paisley led Gill, Underwood, Steve Wariner, Connie Smith, and The Old Crow Medicine Show gave a heartfelt rendition of "Will the Circle Be Unbroken."
Little Jimmy Dickens would have been very touched.
"He definitely has a piece of my heart," said Underwood.
The country crooner might have had a heartbreaking beginning this 2015, but she will soon be celebrating the birth of her first child in spring - a son with NHL player Mike Fisher.
"I've been picking out patterns, rugs, furniture, stuff like that," Underwood told Today regarding her preparations.
"I don't think there's any way for us to actually fathom how our lives are about to change," she added.
At the same time, Underwood will be vying for two Grammy Awards when the ceremony airs February 8 on CBS.
