The ending of Christopher Nolan's film "The Dark Knight Rises" remains a mystery up to this day, and moviegoers are left pondering whether or not Bruce Wayne managed to survive and find his happy ending.
The touching scene showed Alfred spotting Bruce Wayne with Selina Kyle (Catwoman) having a quiet moment at a cafe. The two men lock eyes, acknowledge each other, and Alfred later leaves contented.
According to the actor who played Bruce Wayne in the movie, it was not a dream.
"My personal opinion is that no, it was not a dream, that that was for real," Christian Bale told Entertainment Weekly.
Bale's opinion about the ending came after he admitted to feeling jealous when Ben Affleck was offered the role of Bruce Wayne in the 2016 movie "Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice."
"I've got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going, 'Oh go on... Let's do another.'" he told Empire magazine. "So when I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour."
