A Christian man's 14 year career is on the line after he refused to join an employee training session on lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, transgender, and queer "diversity and inclusivity."
The video was part of a training program chalked out by the Social Security Administration, which announced in April that all employees must be trained in LGBTQ diversity and inclusivity. The employee in question is David Hall, who has worked in the information technology sector for well over a decade.
LifeSite News reports that Hall's Christian convictions do not consider sodomy healthy or normal or good for people. Consequently, he refused to be a part of the training program as he believed that it was in contrast with his personal beliefs.
When the 42-year-old was directed by his superiors to watch a 17-minute video that includes "tips for increasing cultural awareness in a diverse and inclusive environment," he declined, reasoning that the training promotes sinful behavior. Chicago Tribune reveals that the long-term employee told WCIA-TV, "I'm not going to certify sin."
Owing to his refusal to participate in the program, Hall was officially rebuked and suspended without pay. He also disclosed that he has gay and lesbian friends, and he holds no animosity against any of them.
He added that he does not discriminate against anyone, but diversity "training" in sexual deviance were against his religious beliefs.
"This is something I want to fight and expose, to give other Christians the courage of their convictions," he stated, revealing further that several employees felt the same way but were scared to stand by their beliefs.
Meanwhile, Americans for Truth About Homosexuality president Peter LeBarbara commended David Hall, calling him a "hero."
"He is absolutely correct: LGBT 'diversity' sessions and films are NOT truly 'diverse' because they disrespect or ignore faith-based and moral opposition to homosexualism and transsexualism," LeBarbara said.
"Hall is also correct that this is pure propaganda, designed to legitimize a sin movement. Ironically, people are getting fired and disciplined simply for refusing to bend their faith to appease an Orwellian ideology that purports to be about — get this — 'non-discrimination!'"
