Christian Social Community online resource, WasTheWord.com, was launched on the final day of 2014.
The announcement of the initiative occurred during an era in which social media has significantly changed numerous industries, including advertising and music, as well as the lives of the people who use them.
The platform's Richard Irving, President of WasTheWord.com, explained that a "perfect Social Network alternative" can be found in the new online community:
"WasTheWord.com facilitates the virtual meeting of Christians. We believe it is important for people to have a safe space to share their beliefs with other like-minded individuals. From this thought, our Christian community site was born."
The primary aim of the new site is the facilitation of connections between Christians. Those who are interested in joining the community need to register on the website, where they will be asked to create a personal profile. Information like interests and hobbies can be entered.
Registered members can manage friend requests—which can only be sent by other WasTheWord.com members—send and receive messages, and upload media content such as images, music, and videos.
Mr Irving stressed that the safety of the platform's users is a major concern, stating that every profile created would undergoes a series of checks to ensure that "only the right people" were joining the Christian network.
