Super Sunday hosted 4 live games with Liverpool v Man City the blockbuster as Liverpool looked to close the gap on leaders City whilst City looked to hammer home a big advantage before the European cup matches resume.
The game was tight from the start with both teams conceding few opportunities. It took some brilliance from former Anfield man Sterling to open up the Liverpool Defence. Sterling’s shot was well saved by Allison before Gundogan was first to the rebound to shoot home City’s advantage.
Salah then won a Penalty which he converted before City capitalized from some terrible defending and poor Allison mistakes to eventually win 4-1 with Foden the Man of the match.
The result now puts City 5 points clear of nearest Manchester United & with a game in hand, as the Premier league moves closer to the final 3rd of the season.
Man U v Everton
Manchester United hosted Everton on Saturday evening and needed a win to keep the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the table. United went 2-0 up early and could have had more however an inspired Everton came out in the 2nd half and quickly levelled the score 2-2 out of nowhere.
United then went ahead from a set piece before a stoppage time equalizer from in form Calvert-Lewin ensured the honours were even at Old Trafford.
And the rest of the round..
The weekend’s other fixtures saw Aston Villa continue their fine form with a 1-0 win over struggling Arsenal. Chelsea won away at Sheffield United 2-1 whilst Wolves & Leicester played out a dullish scoreless draw.
Burnley & Brighton finished 1-1 whilst in the north Newcastle had an important 3-2 win over Southampton. Spurs welcomed back captain Kane as he helped Tottenham to a 2-1 win over West Brom whilst Fulham did well to keep West Ham to a 0-0 result.
