Manchester City celebrated their sensational season in style with a last minute winner away at Southampton to rack up an impressive and record 100 point season. City impressed with only 2 defeats throughout the campaign and drawing 4 – meaning City took maximum points from 32 of their 38 fixtures – an incredible achievement.
City will have many players now going off to represent their countries in the World Cup, before setting their sights on retaining the premiership title and really testing themselves amongst Europe’s elite next season as they look to concur Europe.
Pep has also been rewarded with a contract extension in Manchester, as he looks to propel City to becoming a real power house across Europe and the world.
The final day of the season still had weighting, as the Champions League places were still up for grabs. Spurs, Liverpool & Chelsea were still fighting it out for 3rd and 4th place, however a disappointing loss for Chelsea away at Newcastle meant Spurs and Liverpool kept hold of the final 2 Champions League places as they look to make an impact in Europe next season.
Liverpool still have the Champions League final next weekend against holders Real Madrid, and this would allow Chelsea to sneak into the Champions League as the champions of Europe win an automatic position.
Either way, Chelsea will play in the Europa League as a minimum through finishing 5th place.
Relegation was all but sealed the week before the final Premier League round, with Southampton winning away at Swansea, sealing Swansea’s feat as they drop to England’s second tier. They join West Brom and Stoke City down in the Championship as Cardiff, Wolves and the winner of Aston Villa and Fulham will join back in England’s Top flight.

Wembley was the setting for the The FA cup final on Saturday, as a disappointing season for Manchester United and Chelsea – meant they were both desperate for some silver where to cap of 2018.
Both teams were matched evenly and it was Chelsea to get the early breakthrough with a penalty, in which Hazard slotted within 20 minutes.
Untied tried desperately to get back on level terms and had a host of opportunities, however could not break the Chelsea defence.
Chelsea lifted the Cup to win their 8th FA Cup in total – making Chelsea one of the most successful clubs in English Football.
