The Prime Minister of Australia, John Howard, has said in a meeting of business leaders that climate change would be a top priority for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum (APEC).
Mr. Howard hoped the APEC meeting would allow the 21 world-leaders to discuss a framework to tackle the issue of global warming that would 'genuinely' address the problem, reported AP.
"The key task in Sydney is to give political direction to the shape of a future framework for climate change … to find (an) agreement on principles for international action that genuinely address the problem …" he said.
The APEC meeting will be held in Sydney on September 8th to the 9th. The issue of climate change is becoming a source of concern for all religions, including Christian, where in 2006 they jointly released a report, entitled 'Common Belief,' on the issue which outlined their theological and spiritual statement on it.
