Sometimes in life things are not always fair on your walk with the Lord, you can often go through things that seem incredibly unfair, heartbreaking, challenging and shattering. But often it all works out for your good and for the glory of God.
It’s become very clear to me just how true this statement really is over the past couple of weeks. I don’t know about you but for me I struggle deeply with not only trusting God but also allowing Him to fill all the voids in my life with his love, mercy, and His Holy Spirit, yet I have been a Christian for a couple of years now.
As a Christian, I know I don’t get everything right, no one does as we all fall short of God's standards. But I know that by the blood of the lamb, Jesus Christ, we are able to be reconciled with God.
It’s easy when it’s easy
It’s always easy to follow God when things go you way and you get what you want in life. But the test starts when everything gets flipped on is head so to speak where nothing goes your way, or you stop getting what you want in life.
That’s where I am currently, yes, it’s not exactly the best place to be in or to be going through but here I am in this current situation—believe me it’s not a bed full of roses and it hurts more than anything that I could have imagined.
Sometimes, it is easier to say, “I’ve had enough of this" or “I give up Lord, I’m done" and walk away but then if you do that what are you really saying????
In my opinion it would be like you’re telling God that no matter what He has done for you, or helped you go through that it’s all not worth it if you can’t have what you wanted or if you can’t have an easy walk with the Lord. How ungrateful is that??
It’s not all roses
The Lord never promises that this life would be easy, instead Jesus himself tells us that we will be prosecuted for His name’s sake, in Matthew chapter 5 verse 11, “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” (King James Version)
Along with the persecution that we may face during our lives because of our faith, we can be sure that God is with us during it all.
It's become clear that no matter what God has done for me or helped me through, there is no doubt that I am His only, and there is no way I would ever walk away from Him no matter what challenges are thrown my way.
For me personally, that is a big load lifted off my shoulders when I made the decision to live my life for the Lord come what may, to be a light for the Kingdom of God in a world full of darkness that surrounds me.
I may not know what the future holds but I know that no matter what, I'm not alone but I look forward to being a light in the midst of darkness.
