The young Queenslander won by the insane margin of 15 minutes, admitting he didn't even feel pushed in the final leg of the race after gaining a strong opening lead earlier on.
"I really love this race and I put a lot of pressure on myself... and to do that three years in a row is pretty awesome," said Eckstein.
"To get the hat-trick is a pretty special thing for me," he said.
Former Coolangatta Gold great Guy Leech is the only other man to have won the race twice in the 80's and he believes Eckstein is a true powerhouse in the sport.
"He's the new breed of endurance athlete - on paper he doesn't have a weakness," he said.
Eckstein won his first Coolie Gold in 2005 aged just 19-years-old and then went on to win the consecutive 2008 and 2009 titles.
In the women's competition fellow Queenslander Alicia Marriott equalled Hayley Bateup's record of three wins, successfully defending her title from two other Queenslanders, Courtney Hancock and Liz Pluimers.
The Coolangatta Gold is a 46km race run by Australian Surf Lifesaving and held annually near Coolangatta, Queensland.
The race is one of the original Ironman endurance events, which includes a 23km surf ski leg from Surfers Paradise to Greenmount before a return journey north that includes a beach run of 0.65km from Greenmount to Coolangatta; a 3.5km surf swim to Bilinga; a 4km beach run to Currumbin and a 5.5km board paddle to Burleigh Heads before the final 10km beach run Burleigh Heads to Surfers Paradise.
The event was made famous by a 1984 movie of the same name; the movie was filmed in conjunction with the running of the inaugural race in front of the massive crowd at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.
