For so long, we have been used to seeing Damian Lewis play Marine Sergeant and former prisoner of war Nicholas Brody in Homeland, and now he will be shifting roles as King Henry VIII in the BBC mini-series Wolf Hall.
The six-part series is based on author Hilary Mantel's same-titled Booker Prize-winning novels. It will follow the rise of Thomas Cromwell, who will be played by Tony Award winner Mark Rylace, and monitor his journey towards becoming Henry VIII's closest advisor. Needless to say, that journey is fraught with intrigue and deception.
"I keep you because you're a serpent," Henry VIII taunts Cromwell in the trailer. "Everything that you have will come from me."
The relationships of Henry VIII, who is infamous for having six wives (and killing two of them), will also be highlighted in the mini-series. Two of his six wives, Katherine of Aragon (Joanne Whalley) and Anne Boleyn (Claire Foy) will be major characters in Wolf Hall.
