The Lay Witnesses for Christ International ministry has a three tiered approach for their ministry at each Summer Olympic Games.
First, their ministry team includes numerous former Olympic medallists such as Olympian of the Century, Carl Lewis; and Gold medallists such as Jo Deloach, Richard Bucknor, and Madeline Manning Mims (to name but a few). This enables a seamless access to the athletes.
Second, their ministry has a focus on various ways to connect with people and to ensure ongoing discipleship for those who have made personal decisions to repent of their sin and follow Jesus as their Lord. It relies on fervent prayer, soul winning and linking into local churches and international ministries.
Third, they devote a great deal of energy to hosting an 'Evening with the Stars' at a large convenient venue. This enables members of local communities to come and hear first hand from Olympic athletes the personal reasons why they follow Jesus.
"It is therefore imperative that Christian leaders in London get a first hand knowledge of the way Lay Witnesses for Christ International ministry operates, as its proven philosophy has been honed over seven previous summer Olympics," M V Tronson noted.
Dr Sam Mings is seeking the Lord for a strategically placed London church to link with Lay Witnesses for Christ International. He is also seeking a London Chairman for the outreach and three administration staff to manage the office.
