The LGBT Agenda and Christianity have long been on a collision course. Last month Israel Falou, Australian rugby super star demonstrated just that. Falou, a devout Christian posted an image on Instagram, a paraphrasing of a potent and powerful scripture (1stCorinthians 6:19) which highlights that several groups of people will be going to hell if they do not repent. "Warning: drunks, homosexuals, fornicators, thieves, atheists, idolaters. Hell awaits you. Repent! Only Jesus Saves".
The caption then read "Those that are living in Sin will end up in Hell unless you repent. Jesus Christ loves you and is giving you time turn away from your sin and come to Him". Also mentioned in the caption were Galations5:19-21, Acts2:38 and Acts17:30. Rugby Australia and his club New South Wales Watarahs after careful consideration found Falou to have committed a "high level breach of the Code of Conduct of Professional Players" and subsequently ripped up his 4million dollar contract.
Chief executive of Rugby Australia, Raelene Castle stated "When we say rugby is a game for all, we mean it. People need to feel safe and welcomed in our game regardless of their gender, race, background, religion, or sexuality." This is the second time in one year that Falou has mentioned the need for homosexuals to repent to escape hell.
Falou's Response
Falou has stood by his beliefs and rightfully and honourably so. He has been dropped by sponsors, verbally attacked by harsh critics, lost his job, and his name has been dragged through the mud because he dared to speak ancient biblical truth that steps on the toes of the twenty first century, untouchable homosexual elites. You see, it's ok if he says fornicators and liars will go to hell if they do not repent, but it is unacceptable and intolerable for a professing Christian to express the well known, centuries old Christian position on homosexuality.
Claiming the need for inclusion and tolerance, goverments and organizations like Rugby Australia, hijacked by LGBT secularist philosophy exclude and fail to tolerate Christian beliefs. Their devolving, reprobate thinking elevates the truest expression of homosexual intimacy as good and that of Christian love, which does not rejoice in evil, as evil.
A spiritual analysis
The spirit of Jezebel, the accuser and one which seeks to intimidate and silence believers is at work now more than ever. Immature, lukewarm and blinded believers have been compromising in the face of this intimidation, many trading biblical truth for being liked by their colleagues, job security, comfort and or power. But hear the Word of the Lord through Israel Falou "My fait
h in Jesus Christ is what comes first.... When we come to Christ it's no longer our will any more. It's always the will of God that comes first." In saying this, Falou has categorically stated what so many believers fail to state with so much less at stake; that money is not his god, the opinions of men aren't his god, fame isn't his god and neither is he his own god. He lives solely for God.
On Christian Duty
The now sacked rugby star also said it is his "duty to preach the Word", and that it may sound harsh but he can't change what the Word says. Following his line of thought, the declaration of the Word is therefore his untouchable objective, signed via heavenly contract at salvation, which no earthly contract can undo. His silence cannot be purchased, even with multiples of millions! He is saying that even if the Word is offensive and harsh, we must stay true to it!
A Challenge to Believers
It is this singularity of allegiance to Christ which is so lacking in the lives of modern day believers. We seem to desire to operate in spiritual schizophrenia, where we can believe one thing on a Sunday in church but believe something completely different throughout the week at work. This duplicitous living leads to an ineffective, compromised, insipid, and vomit-worthy-lukewarm life.
The truth is, if people want to be able to believe anything they want and do anything they want, neither Christianity nor heaven is for them. Believers are called to be living sacrifices, crucified with Christ, who love the Lord so much that all the money, power, comfort or adoration in the world can't shake our passionate love for Him and respect for His Word.
If you ask me, Israel Falou is a modern day hero of the faith, whose name could be added to the list of saints in Hebrews chapter 11 verses 24 and 26. I imagine it would be read something like this "By faith Israel Falou, when he grew up, refused to be known as the silent Australian rugby star. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of all Australia, because he was looking ahead to his eternal reward."
May the Lord sustain Israel Falou, and may the Lord raise up for himself a faithful, passionate, spotless bride who will proclaim the Word boldly and clearly to a blind and dying generation, no matter the cost!
