|PIC1|Measuring a huge 20 metres long, the banner was created for the Tasmanian campaign and was mounted on the side of the Door of Hope Church in Launceston from mid-September, 2007.
"The Door of Hope Church in Launceston occupy the former Paton's Woollen Mills site which is visible right across the city," said Bible Society CEO, Daniel Willis. "They used the hanging of the banner to launch the Tasmanian 'Jesus. All about life' campaign and rather than the banner remain unused, we shipped it to Sydney where it will hang on our building until the end of 2009," he said. "Like Tasmania, we're also running a statewide campaign and we thought having the banner on our building was a great way of telling people who drive past, that the campaign is coming," said Daniel.
The NSW campaign starts on September 15th for six weeks and from that date you can expect to see 'Jesus. All about life' banners flying outside over 2,000 NSW Churches across all denominations.
Between Launceston and Sydney, the banner traveled to Western Australia where it hung on the side of The Doulos – a Mission ship as it berthed in Fremantle at the end of last year. "The Western Australian 'Jesus. All about life' team wanted to make an impact in their state, so they have also made good use of the banner," Daniel said.
'Jesus. All about life' is a non-denominational, advertising-based, mass-media campaign which aims to increase the general public's awareness of the person of Jesus, and what he said 'about life'.
This media campaign is supported by local churches, who run community, cultural, and arts events that connect with the message of the campaign. It has the support of all the major denominations in the state.
