The Disney animated film "Frozen" has had exceptional success this year, first earning $1.27 billion worldwide then becoming the fifth-highest grossing film of all time, as well as the highest in its genre.
But its hit single "Let It Go," despite charming everybody who has heard it, has now become an ear-sore, especially to parents whose kids just can't 'let it go'.
And "Frozen" director Jennifer Lee could not agree more.
She recently told The Hollywood Reporter for their Women in Entertainment issue that she is truly sorry to parents because of the song.
"A year ago, I'd meet people who, when they found out who I was, they'd say, 'Oh, we love the songs! We sing them all the time,'" Lee said.
And back then, an elated Lee would thank those who praised the song. But now, her reaction is much different.
Now they're like, 'Yep, we're still listening to those songs,'" Lee tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I've gone from, 'Thank you,' to, 'Sorry!'"
Lee might have to apologise some more since she is directing "Frozen Fever," an animated short film that will appear before Disney's live-action flick, Cinderella! There will also be a new original song written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez in the mini-installment.
