I will always keep my blogs authentic, real in the aim that it will bring encouragement and hope.
Last Saturday I heard of the news that a dear friend of mine had passed away and to be honest it was so hard to hear. My mind was racing, my body felt numb, and my head was spinning. How could someone so beautiful be taken from this Earth so soon.
I felt confused, upset, and frustrated. I did not know what to do in that moment and for a split second I felt alone. However, I quickly remembered that God was with me and with tears streaming down my face I laid down, put on worship music, spent time with God and told him how I felt.
I felt that He was so close, and he reminded me of His goodness and where he had shown up time and time again.
This beautiful friend was someone who I will always cherish, love and am so thankful that I was able to get to know while she on this Earth.
It is okay to go through grief and to feel things. Grief comes in waves and there is no normal way to grieve. It can look different for everyone. Do I miss her, yes. Do I wish I could see her again, yes. But I still choose to know that God is good despite how I may feel and that we can grieve with hope.
Yesterday as I was spending time with God, I had a vision where I was in heaven her. We were laying down and watching the stars together. It was beautiful. She had so much peace, was so happy and free. I have quite often reminded myself of this encounter which has brought such comfort.
I encourage you wrap your arms around your loved ones, spend time with them, tell them you love them and how much they matter to you, ask yourselves what really matters most in this life? We can get so busy sometimes in life that we forget what matters most.
I encourage you to ask God how can you love the one in front of you? How does He see them? What can you do for them? Love looks like something, and we never know when someone may not be here anymore. Ask God what does love look like in this situation?
I want to encourage you; you are on this Earth for a reason. You are precious. You are his son and daughter, his princess, his prince, his child who He dearly loves. God can handle how you feel, and he yearns for you to go to Him. He wants to help you see truth.
He knows us best and knows how to take care of our heart in such a gentle way. You are loved and really do matter.
