Arsenal’s dream start to the season continued on Sunday with a hard fought 3-1 win at home to Liverpool. This was another huge test for Arsenal who have only lost 1 match all season in the league after 9 appearances and their toughest match yet after beating Spurs last Saturday. The win keeps Arsenal a point ahead of nearest rivals Manchester City with only 6 weeks until the world cup and the long winter Break.
Manchester City won 4-0 at home to Southampton with Haaland scoring his 15th goal of the premier league season- an incredible feat just 2 months in. City now have a +24 goal difference which is over +10 better than anyone else in the league. With European football their priority, the sky blues’ are looking very much like the team to beat with such a strong squad and rotation to keep them fresh for every competition.
Manchester United travelled to Everton knowing a win was a must after a difficult start to the season. United lost their first 2 games but have since rallied and are starting to find some form. Untied came from behind to win 2-1 away at Goodison park with Ronaldo scoring the winner just before half time. Everton have been in good form and were unlucky not to walk away with a point.
Saturday’s other fixtures saw Bournemouth continue their impressive form coming from behind to win 2-1 at home to Leicester. Chelsea were to strong for Wolves winning 3-0 whilst Newcastle thrashed Brentford 5-1 at St James’s Park. Spurs won 0-1 away at Brighton thanks to a Kane Header while West Ham won their London derby 3-1 at home to Fulham. Palace won 2-1 at home to Leeds in an important match for both sides.
