Bible Society New Zealand (BSNZ) has produced an innovative new resource to help young people navigate their way through the Bible.
It’s called The Field Guide to the Bible and they’re giving away 10,000 copies at Easter camps throughout the country this Easter.
Jeremy Woods, Youth and Young Adult Specialist at BSNZ says it’s a unique product as so many existing Bible commentaries and study guides are aimed at an adult audience and quite complex.
For many young Christians and people new to the Bible, not knowing where to start reading is a key barrier to the Bible playing an important role in their faith.
This along with confusion about how the Bible fits together as a whole and how it connects with real life was the impetus behind BSNZ developing The Field Guide to the Bible.
The guide includes lots of Bible reading ideas and tips as well as a timeline and narrative of key Bible events and practical introductions to each book.
Thanks to the generosity of its valued supporters BSNZ is giving away copies of The Field Guide to the Bible at Easter camps nationwide. These include the three main Easter camps - Baptist Central (Fielding), Baptist Northern (Mystery Creek, Hamilton) and Canterbury Youth Service's Southern (Christchurch).
It will also be given to youth at the nine Presbyterian Easter camps, the Central Division Salvation Army Easter camp at Silverstream, Upper Hutt, and an Anglican and New Life Easter camp too.
