Dubbed "Life In The Fast Lane" guests enjoyed the display of Fishtail's Falcon V8 race utes (which he revved up), high performance luxury cars, open wheeler racer, big boy's toys including a rocket powered model drag car shooting out flame from its afterburner and Bathurst racing car simulators. The driver with the fastest Bathurst lap won a hot lap with Fishtail himself in the Jesus Racing ute.
Andrew was interviewed about his exploits behind the wheel of the V8 ute, V8Supercars, a Mini and a Daewoo Lanos (his first race car!) and then he spoke from the heart about what it means to live life in the fast lane. He touched on topics such as integrity, commitment, perseverance, knowing where you are going, challenging what people tell you and working it out for yourself and understanding the consequences of your decisions. The response from the audience was overwhelming.
"We decided to put this event on as we wanted to give men in Sydney, the opportunity to come along with their mates and not only have a fun night, but be challenged on how they live their lives." Said Fishtail. "The whole purpose of Jesus Racing is to engage in the conversation and challenge peoples paradigms on their view of Christians and the person of Jesus.
"The feedback has been fantastic, such a positive reaction makes all the effort worthwhile, many people told us they are all keen to come back again next year."
Fishtail will definitely be living in the fast lane this week when he competes in the Sydney 500 at Homebush, the final round of the Auto One V8 Utes Series. Practice sessions on the tight 3.4km track are tomorrow with 3 races Saturday and Sunday.
