Everything in life happens for a reason. There are times when things are great, and there are times when things are difficult. I have learned to trust God earnestly in every season of my life.
When things are going great, I look to God for guidance to keep me on the right path. When things are difficult, I cry out to him to give me strength. It is so amazing how God always sends a word that corresponds with what I am facing.
My word for this season was from the book of Joshua.
In Joshua chapter 1 verse 5 God told Joshua, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
These words resonated with me and have provided me with comfort, strength and confidence.
I will be with you
Just imagine how Joshua felt hearing those words coming directly from Yahweh.
Joshua witnessed how God worked miracles through Moses as Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt. God was with them through it all, he fought their battles for them and sustained them as they journeyed through the wilderness. Not once did he abandon them. Through Moses, God's mighty hand was seen upon his people.
Joshua was chosen by God to lead his people after Moses died. God prepared Joshua to be a leader by giving him the strength that was required. God encouraged Joshua with these few words; “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua knew from experience that God is a God of his promises and that all he had to do was trust him and follow his guidance.
Joshua’s obedience encourages us that when we trust in God, we can embrace and dwell in his promises and live a life of victory.
Trust without borders
My prayer to God is, “Holy Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, give me grace to stand and to depend on you totally- withholding nothing”.
Be encouraged, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
God wants us to trust him wholeheartedly, he will take care of us. You might be going through your difficult season but just remember that you are chosen, and that God’s not done with you.
Abba got you! As he was with Moses, he will be with you!
