De Faoite shared the 12-year history of success made by Youth Defence in keeping Ireland abortion free. Every weekend, members of Youth Defence work on the streets of Dublin holding Educational Sessions, distributing literature and displaying photos that reveal the hard truth of abortion.
The pictures sometimes can be very offensive, however Youth Defence boldly shows to people the scary results of abortion and even the broken body of a dead child.
"Abortion is the world’s best kept secret. They use words like ‘freedom’ and ‘choice’ to hide the truth that abortion murders a human being," says De Faoite. "Keeping the issue alive is vital. You need to be out there with the truth."
Irish pro-life activists also collect signatures to present to government officials telling them that Ireland should never legalise abortion. Youth Defence has collected over one million signatures thus far.
De Faoite challenged young people across the world to never give up in the fight against the murder of children. De Faoite expressed his hope in the closing statement, "We want to see abortion stopped in every country in the world."
The annual rally is a project of the Charismatic Episcopal Church for Life and is under the direction of Father Terry Gensemer. Gensemer takes a group of CEC for Life’s youth to Dublin each year.
