Israel Houghton, who was recently engaged to Adrienne Bailon, confessed that he doesn't deserve to be at the receiving end of the love of God, or his fiancée. He went on to add that he embraces their love anyway.
This statement formed part of a larger post that the Christian worship leader made on his Instagram page. Alongside was a photo of himself with his fiancée snapped during their Parisian themed wedding shower, he inserted a caption that read:
"God Favors Me! been listening to this song on repeat for the last several days by @bishophez - I know I don't deserve to be chosen and loved by God let alone by this life changing woman @adriennebailon - but it's not about deserving or earning or achieving one's love- it's about receiving it. And I humbly and gladly receive... my heart is so overwhelmed by both the love of God and the love of this amazing woman. My fiancé, my forever... and like Hez says 'don't worry about your haters, your haters can't do nothing with you,' I receive that too. #HappilyEverHoughton."
After his former marriage of nearly 20 years ended, Houghton decided to give the sacred institution of marriage another chance, this time with his co-host Bailon. The singer affirms that God has been favouring him during this new period in his life.
According to the Christian Post, Houghton also confessed, "Several years ago I failed and sinned in my marriage. Though this is new to many, it is not new to us as we have been working through this for over 5 years. Although we tried, the challenges in our relationship have proven too much to overcome."
Although Bailon was targeted as the reason behind the collapse of Houghton's previous marriage, the actress maintains that she hadn't known him during that time of his life at all.
