Jennifer Garner has signed on to voice Mama Llama for the upcoming animated preschool series 'Llama Llama'. Netflix announced the news on Wednesday at the Television Critic Association Summer press tour.
This children's show is based on the bestselling book series by Anna Dewdney. This whole series will showcase the adventures and childhood moments of young Llama, as well as the special connection between the lead character, his best friend and family.
Jennifer shared her excitement for the role as Mama Llama, sharing that she read Dewdney's books to her kids "hundreds of times" over the past 10 years."
"Little did I know it would all count as rehearsal — I'm thrilled to bring Mama Llama to life for Netflix!" Garner stated.
"The Llama Llama books are so fun to read, your kids won't even notice they are learning life lessons, such as how to battle boredom, or braving the first day of school. But when your kids watch the coziness of Mama Llama's relationship with her Little Llama, be ready for an extra snuggle as you connect, while learning about the world around you."
The series will be produced by Genius Brand International, with creators including Oscar winning director Rob Minkoff and director Saul Blinkoff, art director Ruben Aquino, show runner Joe Purdyand producers Jane Startz and Andy Heyward.
The Llama Llama series is set to debut in 2017.
