Superheroine Jessica Jones will need to pull herself together as it has been revealed that she will be pitted against more than one nemesis in the second season of Netflix original series 'Jessica Jones'. It has been speculated that the villains could be Ruby Thursday, Jigsaw or Nuke.
According to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Melissa Rosenberg hinted of more than one antagonist in the second season. Claiming that no one can beat the memorable performance of David Tennant aka Kilgrave from season one, she expressed that the Purple Man would be hard to top.
"No one is ever going to beat David Tennant, so you don't do that," she said.
When asked about the villain in the forthcoming season, Rosenberg made it plural by saying "Or antagonists."
Kilgrave was the main enemy of Jessica whom she killed last season by snapping his neck. Now fans are wondering who might take the place as the main villain Jessica would be fighting. Speculations are rife that Will Simpson will turn into Marvel super villain 'Nuke' for season 2.
Other potential contenders are Ruby Thursday, who has the ability to shape-shift just her skull, or Jigsaw, who is after all the Hell's Kitchen's crime fighters.
There has yet to be any official confirmation regarding this by the executive producer who resisted divulging more details.
"I can't spoil a surprise", Rosenberg told EW.
With no official announcements as of now, fans may need to wait awhile before finding out more about the sophomore season as it is unlikely to release until 2018.
