Chelsea kept their slim chances of regaining the Premiership alive with a dominant 3-0 win at home to locals West Ham. Chelsea played later and new only a win would do if they were to stay in the race and now find themselves needing no less than 3 points next week at United.
Relegation threatened Blackpool came out of the bottom three with a single point as they battled with Newcastle. Wigan meanwhile suffered a massive blow as they travelled to Sunderland and were blown away after going ahead early. Sunderland eventually came out 4-2 winners at the Stadium of Light. Wolves suffered late heart ache as Fulham snatched a late point to leave Wolves in the bottom 3 with a tough run in.
Other matches saw Aston Villa draw 1-1 with Stoke. Tottenham had an entertaining 2-2 draw with an impressive West Brom at White Heart Lane and Liverpool smashed 5 past a hapless Birmingham.
