Newcastle were also surprise winners as an Andy Carroll goal was the difference at the Emirates. Arsenal were disappointing in front of their loyal supporters as Newcastle's resurgence continued with a great performance much to the delight of the Newcastle away fans who faced a long trip to London.
Manchester City also performed well on Saturday with a convincing 2-0 win away at West Brom. A double from Italian Balotelli before being sent off was enough to earn the Sky Blues all 3 points and ensure they keep pace with the leaders.
Manchester United needed a late Park goal deep into injury time to secure all 3 points at Old Trafford. Wolves stuck to their game plan at the Theatre of Dreams however United's never say die attitude paid off as Park found a way through with seconds remaining.
Saturday's other fixtures started with the early kick off at Bolton where Spurs were the visitors. Spurs however were coming off the back of a fantastic win over Inter Milan in mid week and couldn't match the intensity of a Bolton team keen to keep up their great start to the season. Bolton took Tottenham apart and eventually came out 4-2 winners. In the midlands Birmingham hosted West Ham in what was an entertaining 2-2 draw. Blackburn hosted cross town rivals Wigan and came out 2-1 winners. Blackpool and Everton drew 2-2 in a game that saw Australian Tim Cahill score his 50th premiership gaol. Fulham and Aston Villa played out a 1-1 draw at the Cottage whilst Sunderland saw off a Stoke City challenge to win 2-0 at the Stadium of Light.
There will also be a full fixture list mid week with the Manchester derby featuring.
