The man who stole a part of the wrecked Porsche Carrera GT that actor Paul Walker died in will finally be getting jail time.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said that Anthony Edward Janow, 26 years old, entered a no-contest plea to one felony count of grand theft of personal property and one misdemeanor count each of destroying evidence and resisting, obstructing, and delaying a peace officer on August 5.
He has been sentenced to six months in prison and also received three years of formal probation. according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Meanwhile, his accomplice Jameson Brooks Witty, 19 years old, has also earlier been to six months in jail and three years of probation.
Both men stole the red T-top roof panel of the wrecked Porsche from the tow truck used to move Walker's vehicle. They trailed the tow truck from the crash site and stole it when the truck stopped on a red light.
It wasn't difficult for police to find the thieves, since Witty later posted a picture of the stolen item on Twitter and Instagram, saying, "Piece of Paul Walker's car, took it off a tow truck at a stop light."
Police recovered the car part from a residence in Canyon Country. Witty was arrested then while Janow later turned himself in.
