EA has always avoided venturing into remastering projects but this time, it seems that the video game developers are all geared up for remastering classic games to offer to the present generation console devices. The latest among these projects seems to be the Mass Effect titles.
Lately, EA executive vice president Patrick Soderlund had stated that although the company had looked at remastering older versions of games, after weighing up for the appropriate segment for investment, it has decided that it would be beneficial for developers "to work on a totally new IP" instead of investing time with remaster versions of the games.
However, Soderlund acknowledged that the Mass Effect series developed by BioWare should be cautiously consider, as he believes there is demand for the game in the market, adding that though the company is considering remastering the titles, it is not clear when the games would be released to fans.
As far as the upcoming add-on in the series of Mass Effect is considered then the latest version, Andromeda, Soderlund claimed that the sci-fi series successor would hit its planned release date in 2017.
He also added that EA is more focused on the big labels at the moment which are scheduled for October to December releases, and after these projects are released, then EA will focus on the Mass Effect series.
The Mass Effect trilogy is a science fiction game series with action role playing shooting genre. Its upcoming title is 'Andromeda' which is expected to roll out in the first quarter of 2017.
