Following this week's Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Microsoft announced their full line up of updates for the operating system scheduled for 2017.
Though it has not yet mentioned what exactly will go into the updates, a blog post revealed that the tech giant has been working on some new, exciting features.
"This will be our last feature update for 2016, with two additional feature updates expected in 2017," wrote Nathan Mercer of Microsoft.
It is widely speculated that the release of the update, codenamed "Redstone 2," will coincide with hardware updates to Microsoft's Surface Pro and Surface Book devices.
The internal builds are also out for testing, showing that Microsoft will not delay to roll them out. Another update codenamed "Redstone 3" will arrive later in the same year, but as rumors suggest, the 'Redstone 2' update will be more noteworthy.
This week's Windows 10 anniversary update, 'Redstone 1', saw a variety of new features and functionality offered for IT professionals. Windows Information Protection (WIP), improvements in Windows Hello for Business and taskbar management, and expansion of mobile device management (MDM) capabilities were among added features.
"We are introducing two editions designed for the unique needs of K-12 institutions: Windows 10 Pro Education and Windows 10 Education," Mercer also revealed.
"These editions provide education-specific default settings for the evolving landscape in K-12 education IT environments."
