American television sitcom 'Modern Family' season 8 will be quirkier when it returns on September 21 this year with the series kick-starting with the families celebrating a reunion. Pritchett, Dunphy and Tucker would be celebrating Father's Day after their separate vacation in spots like New York, the Midwest and Mexico.
Things will be different in the life of the cast this season. According to E News, "Claire (Julie Bowen) will struggle with Jay (Ed O'Neill) back at the company while Phil (Ty Burrell) enjoys more of his often-bizarre hobbies, and Gloria's (Sofia Vergara) hot sauce business starts to see some success."
Executive producer Steven Levitan already revealed that season 8 will highlight the gay couple Mitchelle (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) prominently. They will welcome a slew of interesting guests in their upstairs rental unit.
The couple also have the responsibility to deal with Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) who on the other hand will feel the burn stepping on her tweens with new challenges. Similarly Manny (Rico Rodriguez) and Luke (Nolan Gould) will try to keep their senior year of high school and college hunts hunky dory.
Haley, who is in a long distance relationship with Adam, will begin her career as an entrepreneur. Alex will try to keep things good with Caltech.
A Halloween and New Year's Eve episode is going to take place with Castle's Nathan Fillion making a guest appearance in three episodes of the eight installment. Martin Short is another star guest to appear on the show.
