A movie about Mother Teresa is the world most famous and well-known story that aim to raise the church’s global Catholic mission aid agency. The movie is filming across Australia and showed the most beloved and compassionate humanitarian of the 20th century to reflect the value from the life of nun.
The movie costs $20 million to produce and Catholic Mission will receive $2-4 per ticket for every ticket that being sold. The Funds is aimed to use for support Catholic Mission’s work for needy children, in fostering local church leadership and in partnering churches and communities across the developing world.
In 2004, Catholic Mission raised $385,000 from Australia and was sent directly to help needy children in India with basic necessities such as shelter, medicines, healthcare and education. The story of Mother Teresa, also known as “The Angel of Calcutta”, lived among the poorest of the poor in India’s most disadvantaged city, feeding and housing abandoned children, lepers and the dying.
The movie shows how the life of nun and how Mother Teresa she sacrificed herself to help for the others in needs. She also influenced the decisions of some of the most powerful people in the world. She established her own order the Missionaries of Charity in 1950, and this organization continues its good work till now.
The first screening was in Brisbane at 18th April at selected Megaplex and Greater Union complexes. The next screening is 5th May at selected Greater Union complexes as well as Penrith Hoyts, Macquarie Megaplex and Fox Studios and 19th May at Parramatta Village. In Melbourne from 2nd June at selected Village cinemas; In Adelaide from 30th June at selected Hoyts, Greater Union and Megaplex complexes; In Perth from 20th July at selected Megaplex and Hoyts complexes; In Darwin from 20th July at Casuarina Greater Union.
