The next gen gaming console PlayStation Neo has been in the news for a long time. Amid rumors, fans are eagerly waiting for it to add it to their collection of consoles. Despite Sony being very quiet about the new addition, sources have leaked details about the upcoming consoles' specs.
According to Giant Bomb, PS Neo will have eight Jaguar cores at 2.1GHz as compared to the eight Jaguar cores at 1.6GHz of the original PS4. An improved GPU is expected which might be AMD GCN with 36 CUs at 811MHz. Those who are worried about a smooth gaming experience should not worry as the RAM would be 8GB of GDDR5 memory but will run at 176GB/s.
Taking gaming experience a step further, Neo is rumored to offer an Ultra HD Blu-ray player drive. It will come with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 alongside an upgraded processor and GPU. This means gamers will be easily enjoying 4K videos and games.
PS Neo will also feature a 'Neo' mode which means that the game developers have to include a Neo Mode in their games in future which they create for PlayStation. But this does not mean that there will be some Neo-only games, as the games will equally work on the existing PS4 and 4K Neo.
As for the release, it is speculated to happen in October 2016 along with the companies' PS VR headset. The company will hold an announcement on September 7 and fans are crossing their fingers. The console is expected to be more than $350 though this can change.
