It has been nothing but a whirlwind of activities for royal couple Prince William and his wife Duchess Kate Middleton since they landed on New York City on Sunday night.
They squeezed in as many activities as they could in their itinerary. But as soon as they arrived, the couple first went straight to the swanky Carlyle Hotel in Upper East Side, Manhattan, which was a personal favorite of William's mother Princess Diana. They rested for an hour before they headed to the Manhattan apartment of Sir Martin Sorrell for a private event for the American Friends of The Royal Foundation.
The following day, the couple had their individual activities lined up. William flew to Washington D.C. to have a private audience with President Barrack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. William then gave a speech at the World Bank regarding illegal wildlife trafficking.
Kate, for her part, went to the Harlem's Northside Center for Child Development, an organization that provides services for mental health and many others, and helped children create handicrafts and wrap gifts. Kate later went to the house of British Consul General Danny Lopez and his wife Susan for a luncheon.
When the couple reunited later that day, they went to the Barclay Center to watch a live NBA game. They got court side seats and managed to watch the third quarter of the Brooklyn Nets game. During a break, they even had a conversation with artists Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce.
The royal couple met up with top NBA executives regarding the partnership between their Royal Foundation's United for Wildlife and Coach Core programs and the NBA Cares social responsibility program.
During their last day in NYC, they plan to dedicate a moment of reflection at the 9/11 memorial and attend a charity dinner for their alma mater, St. Andrews University, at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art.
Other highlights of the royal couple's visit was a meeting with Hillary and Chelsea Clinton at a conservation reception co-hosted by the Royal Foundation and the Clinton Foundation.
It was evident that NYC was deeply enamored by William and Kate. The Empire State Building flashed red, white, and blue colored lights (Union Jack colors) in honor of their visit, while New Yorkers braved the winter chill as they waited hours before the couple's arrival at their hotel just to get a glimpse of them.
