Finishing the first quarter with a 33-point lead, the Tigers were roaring! The lead didn't last however, as the Swans fought back and asked for the Tigers to give it their all.
The last few minutes were nerve wracking for anyone watching! Sitting on the edge of our seats we witnessed Richmond pull through with a 3 point lead, finishing the game 10.8 (68) to 9.11 (65)!
Finals seemed like a pipe-dream back in June where they held a 3-10 record. When Richmond last lost they were equal on the bottom of the ladder, higher than Brisbane Lions and St Kilda by percentage only.
With a 9 game winning streak the Tigers landed themselves the eighth position on the ladder, fighting against the odds and pulling off a feat no other team has managed!
Making the biggest comeback seen in AFL history, the Tigers have qualified for finals in consecutive seasons for the first time in almost 40 years!
With finals upon the top 8 they have to gear up and fine-tune the skills they've been working on all season.
This is the time to make it really count and it will be fascinating to see how each team approaches these next few weeks as the excitement and nerves kick in for everyone!
If Richmond can keep up their current momentum we can expect to see great talent from them as they step out onto Adelaide Oval to rival against Port Adelaide on Sunday!
Despite their narrow loss, the Swans still finished on top of the ladder, with their percentage being the only thing keeping them above Hawthorn.
Saturday night we'll see the Swans go through to play Freemantle at the ANZ Stadium for what should be another captivating game!
