Russel Brand might be banned from social networking site Twitter after he posted a picture of a Daily Mail journalist's calling card with all his contact details.
The calling card showed the journalist's work phone number, mobile number, and work email address.
Brand later deleted the tweet, saying "That was a bit nuts...Deleted it. I'm human."
However, his controversial post has already been retweeted hundreds of times by some of his 8.7 million followers before Brand retracted his mistake.
The actor explained that he tweeted the picture because the newspaper and its owner Lord Rothermere were avoiding tax. "Lord Rothermere and @DailyMailUK avoid tax. One of their senior reporters want to talk about it," Brand tweeted with the picture.
Twitter states that "You may not publish or post other people's private and confidential information, such as credit card numbers, street address or Social Security/National Identity numbers, without their express authorization and permission."
It adds that "Twitter reserves the right to immediately terminate your account without further notice in the event that, in its judgment, you violate these rules."
