There has been a spate of character killings in American Horror Story: Freakshow recently, and viewers are at the edge of their seats wondering if conjoined twins Bette and Dot will make it out alive.
Sarah Paulson, who plays both Bette and Dot in Freakshow, has played characters from seasons 1 to 3 that managed to survive gruesome and horrific scenarios. She was Billie Dean Howard, a psychic from Murder House; then she became the very ambitious writer Lana Winter for Asylum; and finally "Supreme" witch Cordelia Foxx in Coven.
It is not yet definite whether Paulson's character survival rate will carry over this season, but she hopes her beloved characters will remain unscathed.
"I have hope that they will survive the season only because I love them so much, and the idea of having to film something like that is quite terrifying to me, actually. Call it method, call it what you want, but there's no way when I'm doing these things to not imagine that they're real and true. Otherwise I don't know how to do it; I don't know how to play it unless I really put myself into that reality," she told The Hollywood Reporter.
Paulson said she gets so attached to her characters that their possible deaths would be "hard for me to even talk about; it makes my throat close up; it makes me upset!"
"Do I like that so far I'm the only actor in the history of American Horror Story to survive every season? Yes, I do. Is that going to last? I really don't know," she added.
