Dr Mings explained this is the eighth (8th) Summer Olympic Outreach by LWFCI known as Chaplains to the World's Olympians, and that prayer has always been the cornerstone to mission. In Beijing four years ago it was Dr Mark Tronson's Well-Being Australia ministry's five elderly praying ladies that led the way in prayer.
Press Service International's Mark Tronson sourced this interview of Shelley McInnis and this is her story.
Why I'm Excited for this London Olympic Ministry
I'm truly excited about Lay Witnesses for Christ International Ministries allowing me to partner with them. I'm expecting in faith a great harvest. I can see people coming from near and far, I believe there will come a great hunger for salvation. The Love of God will be released for He has already prepared the way.
This is an International Prayer gathering
I had the pleasure to meet Pastor Suleman Manzoor, one of the seven LWFCI London Evangelism Directors while he was in California. The Lord allowed him to speak at "Mantle of Prayer International" and I was blessed to connect with him and he invited me to attend the Outreach in London.
Strategic intercessors are critical for a prayer strategy to assist the vision of LWFCI toward the harvest of souls (along with safety and security) during this Olympiad. At the Olympics I will have regular prayer morning and evening where others will be able to join in (I realise many are engaged in other mission activities). I will pray for every leader involved in the LWFCI outreach along with the involved churches.
Background
I didn't have a "dream life" growing up and I can recall how the Lord protected me from the storms of life as a child. I believe God called me when 15 but I didn't accepted the Lord into my life until eight years later. I've been serving the Lord for the past 21 years. I have two children Vashawn and Setiva Wade and two grand children, Cinnamon and Sopria Wade. I was married before becoming a Christian and our unequally yoked relationship ended in divorce. My second year as born again Christian I came to know the evangelist Agnes Lee who became my mentor and I served her until she went home to be with the Lord at age 78.
In Ministry
I was ordained as a Christian Minister in 2004 and I utilise my gift of administration and administratively set up two churches and twelve ministries. I'm currently partnering with "Courage To Be You Ministries" which is about sex trafficking prevention in America. Their vision is to put a stop to the children that are being sold for sex, taking back the children and providing homes and training for them so as to recover.
Prayer is vital to my ministry. Just like the Issachar tribe who knew the times and season when to move, so too faith with prayer. My quest in Mission, is being part of a great harvest of souls.
Preparation
I'm fasting and praying for God to unleash His Spirit in revival over the 'Bridging the Gap London 2012 Olympics'. I'm praying for divine prayer strategies, for the LWFCI leaders and promoting prayer for this Olympic outreach in London. Every Christian leader with whom I connect, I'm pouring out this message. I'm a 'prayer warrior".
My strategic thinking on Evangelism
In my view history plays a key role on a community, a city and a nation and my prayer is for a great move of the Spirit of God over London and England. As peoples from around the world come together for the 2012 Olympiad, as servants of God LWFCI will see harvest fruit, as the Word says, the harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few. This event is drawing Christians from all over the world.
I feel that the secret to evangelism is much preparation in prayer, plus unity in leadership, plus having many planters of the seed and the Lord will water for the harvest.
