Shonda Rhimes has spoken about the latest Grey's Anatomy poster, which sent fans into a frenzy trying to interpret what the design meant for the future of the show's leading lady.
The new poster features a black and white portrait of Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey, the only color found in the poster is in her bright blue eyes, along with the artwork on the left side featuring the iconic Seattle skyline.
Media and fans alike have spun up theories on what the poster could mean. With one reporting: "Meredith will be torn between herself and her beloved city in the upcoming season of Grey's Anatomy."
Shonda Rhimes, however, implied fans were reading too much into the design, tweeting that it was just a really cool poster.

The new poster of the medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy' presents a new look of the show's main character "Meredith Grey." Even with half her face is blocked, she appears positively strong and intimidating, which is a big change for the 'twisted sister'.
No matter what the upcoming season holds for Dr. Grey, it's clear that she will be dealing Shondaland's ups and downs.
Season 13 premieres on ABC on September 22.
