Sons of Korah, has been described as intriguing and it re-creates the musical drama of the Psalms. In their website, it read that the Christian musical group has, "Put the word of God and music together in a dynamic and captivating way in order to lead their listeners into an impacting encounter with the heart of the Bible."
"We believe the Psalms portray spiritual life in all facets and dynamics," said Matthew Jacoby from the Sons of Korah. "Our music is not only intended for Christians, but is an honest and meaningful entry point into exploring the sometimes complicated world of faith."
"It is expected that hundreds of people will attend each show, allowing the fans to be up close and personal, as they are taken on a journey," said the Bible Society NSW in a press statement, which will sponsor the Sons of Korah NSW tour.
"With music which has the ability to appeal to millions, Sons of Korah are destined to touch many lives" said Amiee McCahon, Events Manager.
The name "Sons of Korah" came from Psalms 84 to 88, which referred to a family of musicians who were descendants of Korah. In Numbers 16, they led a rebellion against Moses in the desert and for their action, "God caused the ground to open up and swallow all those who were involved in the rebellion along with their familles."
Despite the fact the familles should not continue in the earth after their rebellion, it was a surprise for the members of the band to find in Numbers 26:11 that: "The line of Korah, however did not die out."
This incident, the Sons of Korah website stated: "…Was a testimony to the grace of God who although He would be right to wipe out the memory of sinful men from the earth, is nevertheless forgiving and whose heart is always for restoration and redemption rather than for destruction."
