In his article Morton wrote that; the former Lang Park is neither the traditional or spiritual home of Queensland rugby, but that Wallaby hooker Stephen Moore believes that because of Australia's test success there; it is certainly the Wallabies' favourite ground.
"You would say it's probably the Wallabies' spiritual home ground at the moment, a bit like Eden Park is for the All Blacks," Moore said.
Having lost only three of their 17 tests at the Brisbane venue, the Wallabies will be making use of every advantage against the Springboks this Saturday.
With their only win in last year's Tri-Nations occurring at Lang Park, Moore believes there is no better place for the Wallabies to be kick starting their battle against the best in the world.
"History would say we play pretty well here and I know all the boys like playing in front of a big home crowd and Queensland really gets behind its sport" he said.
With the All Blacks having already won their two matches against South Africa, the Wallabies need a win against the Springboks this week and a follow up victory against the Kiwis in Melbourne next week if they hope to keep the trophy in sight.
They have also underlined to Australia the importance of winning against South Africa and then following up against the All Blacks in Melbourne on Saturday week.
"The All Blacks have got two wins on the board and 10 points and it's a great way to start," Moore said.
"We've got the same opportunity now with one game in Brisbane and one in Melbourne to get off to that kind of start and it's absolutely vital."
The idea of a sport's or a team's spirit being housed in one place is an interesting one; a place where their essence is stored, where they are more powerful, more difficult to defeat.
As Christians we too have a spiritual home, a place set apart for us by God.
2 Corinthians 5:1 tell us that, "Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands."
