Starship Technology has announced its autonomous bots will begin delivering meals starting this month in London.
The robot, created by Skype co-founders Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis, is an autonomous vehicle that will deliver meals from 'Just Eat' and 'Pronto', targetting business workers who need food delivered within a close proximity without the pricey courier.
It was designed to deliver within a 2-3 mile radius, guided by GPS and sensors, and can move at 4 mph. In order to retrieve the food, customers need to enter a unique code to open the robot's lid.
According to TechRadar, the company has yet to decide which areas of London its robots will cover, but said it is looking at the "most suited" parts to begin with.
Greenwich, where testing has already taken place, will reportedly be one of these lucky areas.
