The Swifts have had a fantastic start to the season, but coach Julie Fitzgerald says there is still plenty of room for improvement left in her team.
"Sport is all about momentum. Obviously we've had a great start to the season and our confidence is building but we still need to be able to put in a consistent four quarter effort week in and week out," she said.
Round 8 also saw Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic with a win over Haier Pulse (56-44), LG Mystics defeated Ascot Hotel Steel (52-49) and West Coast Fever caused an upset defeating third ranked Melbourne Vixens (56-53)

NSW Swifts coach Julie Fitzgerald spoke about her team putting in a consistent "four quarter effort week in and week out." She expects her team to put in 100% all of the time.
God also requires the same dedication from us. He does not want half of you one day, and a quarter of you the next. God wants our hearts, bodies and soul, all of the time, not just when it is convenient or fits into our busy schedule.
Moses in Deuteronomy 6 speaks to the Israelites on this issue.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up" Deuteronomy 6:5-7
Just as athletes strive for consistently high performances in their chosen sports, so also we Christians must strive to walk consistently with God, dedicating 100% of ourselves to him 100% of the time.
